Miguel Marrón

Miguel obtained an MBA in Finance and International Business in 1978 from New York University in New York City. In 1997, he joined UBS to develop relationships with Latin American institutions for UBS Financial Services in New York. His main responsibility was to advise those institutions on their investments in US capital markets. In addition, while at UBS, he managed high net worth individuals private portfolios.
In 2013, Miguel left UBS with a non compete agreement until 2018. In 2019, he joined Sterling Investment as a Managing Partner for America, responsible for The group’s relationship with investors and he is also a member of the Medatlantica Board of directors.

Miguel enjoys hiking, yoga, reading and, currently, he is taking acting classes. He has acted in two One Act Plays written by him
Previous Professional Experience:
Menocal & Co., New York City - USA, 1995-1997. Boutique brokerage house specialized in advising private high-worth clients from Latin America.
Marron & Asociados, Caracas -Venezuela, 1986-1994. Financial advisory firm specialized in helping international firms negotiate Venezuelan Government obligations received from services rendered. As the government lacked the financial resources to pay in cash, it was necessary to design contracts and financial structures that would allow those companies to receive payments quickly for their products and/or services. M&A also assisted international clients to obtain financing from local financial markets. In 1991, M&A (40%) and Banco Exterior C.A. (60%) established a local brokerage house to serve as investing arm of the financial group. M&A closed in 1994 as a result of financial turmoil that resulted from Hugo Chavez military coup attempt in 1992.
